We are not able to speak of the future with absolute authority, unless of course, we speak that which the Sovereign Authority has revealed. First, I shall discuss the text along with some ramifications. Second, I shall discuss revealed truth (which tomorrow, will still be truth!).
Are we in the Last Days? Is it the time of the end? My objective is to reflect upon modern events and compare them with Bible prophecy, both of which, should lead you to be prepared for that which is to come.
Every Christian should be ready to testify of the salvation they possess. Yet, perhaps, you are not ready, willing, or able to do so. It is my objective to simply and plainly state how we might share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our text tells us the reason for Jesus coming to Earth. His was a mission of mercy. It was, if I may say, a search and rescue. May His objective be our objective too.
There is a saying, "Only one life twill soon be past, only what's done for Christ shall last." Are you concerned about what will last for you? My objective is to stress to you the importance of eternity.
My objective is that we would realize the supreme importance of knowing God's will. Then, after we have a knowledge of His will, we would strive to do that will in the way He would have us to accomplish it.
Generally, man must consider life itself, contemplate eternity, and for the saved, we are concerned with our Christian service. How shall you and I handle these things? How shall we deal with life, and eternity, and Christian service? Simply, in all three aspects, the question arises, "Where is your confidence?"
We who are saved know that we are not what we ought to be, but praise God, we are not what we used to be. We look forward. We look upward. Our hope is in what we shall be. The most common thought is, "We will be like Jesus." My concern and subject for today is "We Shall Be Like Him."
Our text tells of One Who is devoted to us. It speaks of the result of such love. It informs us that while we were unlovely, unlovable, and unloving, Jesus chose to love us. I wonder, how have we responded to Him?
Sometimes we might wander, our love might grow cold, and our desire might diminish. When that happens, we need to go back to the basics. It is my objective to bring this matter to your attention. If you are weak or faltering I would encourage you to go back to the basics.
