Sermon Outlines on the Book of Romans
by R. Douglas Meadows
The following outlines are sermon outlines which were preached at Grace Memorial Baptist Church. They are included here with some modification and editing. This exposition of the book of Romans...
My objective is to consider the freedom to enter into the presence of God and the liberty to speak freely. I would encourage every believer to turn to the Lord; bring any request you have to Him. You can come before Him, and you can come boldly.
With the direction our society is going, it is highly likely that you will one day be put to the test. You will be forced to affirm or deny Jesus. When that day comes, remember this passage and reflect upon these three men, and find courage to stand for Jesus.
It is my objective to look into our text and a few related verses and see, once again, what true love is. Of course, I am not talking about the fleshly, animalistic, erotic sort of love, I am speaking about genuine love. I think of divine love - agape love.
The parable before us tells of ten people who received an obligation and who were held accountable. It is my objective to encourage every believer to take personal assessment and evaluate what type of servant you are. I encourage you to serve well.
Stress. All people experience stress, and we don't always correctly respond to it. In our text, Paul speaks of the stress which came upon him and how he dealt with it. My objective is to learn from Paul's experience and apply his principles for dealing with stress.
Paul, in the text, is saying, "Consider what it would be if Jesus never rose again from the dead." For my purpose today, I am saying, "Consider what it would be if Jesus never came!" Basing our thoughts upon this idea, I wish to bring God's message entitled, Without Jesus.
Salvation and ministry is about God and not about man. Therefore, God should be glorified (vss. 24-25). Why? Because God has chosen to do things this way. My objective, then, is to expound these verses and to reveal this truth.
We all are in need of wisdom. Where then, shall we get that wisdom? It is my objective to expound our text and notice the answer. I would also encourage you to make wisdom a high priority.
