Many and varied are the reasons we cease our petitions before a loving heavenly Father. Sometimes, I fear we ask and we would have received except we stopped short in making the request. The request, therefore, was denied on the simple basis of our lack of perseverance.
There are two types of people in the world: lost and saved. Only two groups. Each group reaps the consequences. This begs the question, "Which group are YOU in?" Or, as we might say in our modern society, "Where do you fall?"
Though a sinner is guilty and the religious are crafty and deceitful, the Savior will triumph gloriously. That which began as evil turned into something good.
John the Baptist was a prophet and a preacher. Today, we look into our final lesson; in it we shall note that he was not exempt from the mistreatment that the world might give.

Last week I dealt with the depravity of man. It is clear that salvation is of God. Yet, the unsaved man might conclude that believing on Jesus is too difficult. Therefore, I thought it necessary to discuss the subject of true belief.
I use our reading to introduce the subject of human depravity. We would do well to have a good biblical understanding of this doctrine. I submit man is still as depraved as he has always been.
It is my objective to look at two very similar men, but who have glaringly opposite endings. By this, I judge we can glean precious truth and examine our hearts, lest we become a wild child.
Tomorrow is Labor Day. It is my objective to discuss our labors, giving instruction and honor to those who labor. Of course, my main emphasis will be upon our spiritual labor.
